Headmaster Allen has 20 years of martial arts experience. He is Headmaster of the Shinsho Kempo Jujitsu school in which he holds a 6th degree Black Belt. He earned the rank of Disciple in Chinese Kempo, the Tao of Shaolin. He is an adept in Yang Tai Chi Chuan Fa and Chi Kung and earned a 1st degree Black Belt in Aikijutsu (Aikido).

Headmaster Allen is a respected and sought after seminar speaker because of his unique teaching ability to convey complex concepts in an easily understood manner. He has presented in many Masters Seminars including Camp Budoshin, The Masters Hall of Fame, and the Martial Arts Forum. With his unique teaching abilities, he has taught members of the 5th Special Forces Operational Group (A-team), 82nd Airborne, S.E.A.L.s, and various police departments.

Born to a family of Irish boxers and career military men, he began his training under the tutelage of his father and two uncles when he became old enough to punch. His father was a professional boxer with a black belt in Karate and his uncles are both Vietnam Special Forces combat veterans with black belts in Karate and Judo. After his father passed away, he began studio training when he was 10 years old under Sensei Ralph Tedesco and then Master Harry Hamzey. Both taught the eclectic art of Ketsuka, a combination of Karate, Jujitsu, and Kickboxing. He would continue with this system until he left to attend college. However, what really shaped his martial arts perspective was the rough and tumble lessons from his family, a perspective that focused on effectiveness and results.

During his freshman year of college, he found a kindred spirit and training buddy in Tang Soo Do, black belt Arthur Macaldowney. This relationship developed into both men starting an unofficial, bare knuckle, full contact sparring club at the local YMCA. Here they ran grueling workouts that ran once a week for 10 hours a day. This type of intense training attracted many local black belts, tournament champions, instructors, and street scrappers from many different backgrounds who wanted to test their training against other experts.

In addition to his bare knuckle fighting experience, Headmaster Allen has worked as a bouncer in nightclubs in New York, Connecticut, Florida, and California. In these hostile environments, he learned first-hand the brutal intricacies of real fighting and battletested his unique combative strategies.

As an intern to the Connecticut General Assembly in 1992, Headmaster Allen worked for Representative Larry Anastasia of the 138th district, who was chairman of the Public Safety committee. In this position, he worked closely with Connecticut State and Municipal Police, and experienced first-hand their POST training methods and was awarded a rare citation from the Assembly for his efforts. In 2003 Headmaster Allen earned a commendation from the State of California for his work with the Shinsho Kempo Jujitsu school.

Headmaster Allen’s balanced orientation is reflected in his work as a certified Chi Kung instructor and having practiced meditation for more than a decade. He is a scholar of the works of the Tao Te Ching and the Art of War and has earned a degree in Psychology. He has worked as a professional teacher and counselor years with Talented and Gifted (TAG), Severely Emotional Disturbed (SED) and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorders (ADHD) students. It is his experience as a teacher that has helped him develop his highly accredited learning programs and training methods, which he has implemented in schools in Riverside, San Bernardino, and Orange Counties.

Headmaster Allen is a martial arts enthusiast who trains and shares ideas with a variety of talented martial artists. He sincerely believes that the martial arts are a way of life and a beautiful method to explore the developmental possibilities of human beings. This traditional approach to the arts has led him in his own self-development. Moreover, he uses martial arts to help others on their own journey to inner power at his school in Riverside, California. Headmaster Allen is a published author in the areas of Kempo and Jujitsu and is currently filming his videotape series. He also conducts seminars to introduce others to his unique understandings of the martial arts.

When not wrestling with the Submission Fighters, pushing hands with Tai Chi adepts, free-styling with Aikido and Jujitsu experts, sparring with Karate and Kung Fu stylists, sharing innovations with the martial arts enthusiast, or learning from the ancient and modern masters, Headmaster Allen enjoys engaging in challenging games of strategy and drawing.
