Our
adult SELF-DEFENSE program is the cornerstone of our school. Classes are
offered six days a week and include a variety of experience and mixed ranks. Adults
share and learn from each other as they train with dignity and respect. It is
a time for students and instructors to put aside their daily distractions and
focus on their self-development. Our tranquil classes allow students to
explore their training in safety and with self-respect. Class discussions are
held nightly and questions are encouraged.
Our coed workout program is designed to transform the body into an
effective personal self- defense
tool. Classes begin with a workout that includes aerobic conditioning,
stretching, strengthening, yoga, and chi kung exercises. This is perfect for
beginning students who need to get back into shape and is also an excellent
way to maintain fitness levels for the more experienced students. This
workout is designed to help students develop and enhance their speed, reflex,
flexibility, agility, coordination, strength, grace, balance, and power.
Awareness, confidence, and self-control are by-products of this type of
training and are essential elements of the adult program. Bringing together
the mind and the body forms a interdependent relationship, which proves
exponentially more powerful than the sum of its components.
Students who study the Shinsho system are
exposed to a conceptual system of effortless self-defense. Students learn how
to defend against every conceivable danger including opponents with:

- Hair pulls
- Arm locks
- Bear hugs
- Kicks
- Even multiple
attackers
If confronted, our students are trained to neutralize conflicts in two
seconds. Our defense programs do not concentrate on a narrow field of strikes
or techniques, but concepts that lead us to adapt, overcome, and even when
possible, to harmonize with our adversaries. Our training curriculum is
individualized and inexhaustible.
